-36 car was entered by Rick Ware Racing, replacing the usual 53 number. The car was prepared by Front Row Motorsports.
-Rain at lap 21 delayed the race until Monday. Race restarted at 6pm eastern time and finished the rest of the distance. 2 overtime periods due to crashes before the white flag.
-Ryan Newman (6) was contending for the lead on the last lap when he crashed into the wall and flipped. While upside down in mid air he was hit in the driver's side door/roof by Corey LaJioe (32). A lengthy extrication from the car and screens blocking the public's view led to speculation on Newman's condition. He was taken to the hospital and released within the week.
-Denny Hamlin was criticized for celebrating the win after the last lap crash that injured Newman. Hamlin did not know the extent of the crash but knew something was wrong when he wasn't interviewed at the start/finish line after the race. Hamlin's celebration in victory lane was cut short when he heard the news of Newman's severe crash.
