-Starting positions are set by odd qualifying positions for the Daytona 500 (single car qualifying). So, the pole starting position will start this race, third qualifying position will start in second position (outside pole), fifth qualifying position will start third, and so on.

-Race determines odd starting positions for Daytona 500, with the exception of the pole, which is set during single car qualifying. The winner of this race (or runner up if the winner is the original pole sitter) will start third in the 500, second will start fifth in the 500, and so on.
